The Sparrow....

In retrospect to my last blog....I guess you need to scrape the bottom to appreciate the blessings when they come! I've always been grateful for everything that comes my way, but sometimes I guess we lose sight of what we should look at, when we feel we've been looking there for so long! I was getting the down in the dumps attitude, although one may say rightfully so; I KNOW I need to keep my eyes up and not looking around! My God states clearly, "Do I not feed the sparrows..." With this being said my Lord has provided and kept me afloat as promised! Now to keep my head clear and keep my eyes, mind, thoughts, and PRAISES going up to the 1 ALMIGHTY!!!! THANK YOU LORD for ALL you do for me and my family!!!!!!!!!

interesting info......US hot spots

earthquake hot spots in the US......

http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2008/10/five-us-earthqu/

Food for thought........

wow..they stated that the earthquake that struck Chile actually moved the city 10 feet to the west.... also they state that it shifted the earth's axis. That change alters the rate at which the planet rotates, and rotation determines a day’s length. Which has now shortened our days by 1.26 microseconds. Although this is a minor change in the day's length in regards to us, other natural disasters can also cause this same shift. In 2004 the tsunami, cause a shortening in days by 6.8 microseconds.

With all the natural disasters that seem to be becoming more frequent and stronger, what should we be worrying about and preparing for? Will this begin to affect our everyday lives? How much before we see a significant difference in our days?

Should we be worried????........

There seems to be more and more earthquakes or are we just becoming more aware?? or maybe they are getting stronger to make us more aware??? The latest ones beginning this week 3/8/10....

why do we seem to be immuned to regions who get them regularly, are they not still affected??

AROMAS, Calif. (AP) -- Four small earthquakes struck Central and Southern California early Saturday, but there are no reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude-4.1 quake hit the Ridgecrest area of Kern County shortly before 1:15 p.m. The same area had a 3.2-magnitude quake at 3 this morning.
Two earthquakes also struck the Salinas Valley along the Central Coast.
A magnitude-3.2 quake hit just before 5 Saturday morning and a second quake of the same magnitude followed two minutes later.
The quakes were centered near the town of Aromas and about 35 miles from San Jose.
A 3.0-magnitude quake struck the same area at about 10:30 Friday night.
The latest tumblor came after an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck off California's northern coast about 133 miles west of Eureka Thursday.

Also, why is it that Chile's earthquake was larger than Haiti's; the US stated that they would send help there as well, but yet we STILL only hear about what we can do to help Haiti??? Just curious, I know people from both places and feel that they both should receive help requested, but why do we only hear of one???

Earthquakes reported this year 2010......

Magnitude 7.0 HAITI REGION January 12, 2010
Magnitude 5.9 OFFSHORE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA February 04, 2010
Magnitude 6.9 CHINA-RUSSIA-NORTH KOREA BORDER REGION February 18, 2010
Magnitude 7.0 RYUKYU ISLANDS, JAPAN February 26, 2010
Magnitude 8.8 OFFSHORE MAULE, CHILE February 27, 2010
Magnitude 6.6 OFFSHORE BIO-BIO, CHILE March 05, 2010
Magnitude 6.5 SOUTHWEST OF SUMATRA, INDONESIA March 05, 2010
Magnitude 5.9 EASTERN TURKEY March 08, 2010

You can visit this link and it will show you of the many earthquakes untold in USA, in the past week; in Utah,Oklahoma, and many in Alaska.........

How many of these are you aware of??????

DID YOU KNOW.........for our east coast residents...
If a massive collapse of Cumbre Vieja in the Canary Islands (off the coast of Africa) would cause a tsunami to radiate all the way across the Atlantic Ocean to the East Coast. We would have only 9 hours to evacuate a possibly 80 ft tall wave!!!!

Cumbre Vieja, the most active volcano in the Canary Islands, lurches as a violent earthquake wracks its upper slopes. A third of the mountain breaks away and plunges into the Atlantic Ocean, pushing up a dome of water nearly 3000 ft. high. They don't yet know it, but tens of millions of Americans from Key West, Fla., to South Lubec, Maine, have just 9 hours to escape with their lives.

The tsunami's probable trajectory within 5 hours of the collapse of Cumbre Vieja.
The collapse of Cumbre Vieja unleashes a train of enormous waves traveling at jetliner speed. The first slam into nearby islands, then the African mainland. By the time they reach the East Coast of North America, the waves are up to 80 ft. high, and in low-lying areas, sweep several miles inland.

DID YOU KNOW......Also, for the ones along the Mississippi River and vicinity.....
While all eyes are fixed on California as the site of the next “Big One,” damage from a quake along the New Madrid Fault--which runs for 150 miles between Marked Tree, Ark., and Cairo, Ill.--may be greater. The hot, shattered crust beneath California absorbs seismic energy quickly and focuses it at an epicenter, says Gary Patterson, a geologist at the University of Memphis. But, he says, “the relatively hard, cold slab of rock beneath the central U.S. allows that energy to travel great distances.” A quake's impact zone is at least 10 times larger on the New Madrid Fault (Mississippi River) than on the San Andreas (California), and its shock waves reverberate longer.
The New Madrid Fault has produced the strongest earthquakes in the contiguous states: three tremors near magnitude 8.0 that struck from December 1811 to February 1812. Odds of a quake of that scale are small: 7 to 10 percent in the next 50 years. But factor in unprepared citizens and infrastructure and even a 6.0 earthquake, which has a 25 to 40 percent chance of occurring, would be a disaster.

So, are any of us actually prepared for what may or may not happen in our regions, in our life time??? Why aren't we being at least warned??
