wow..they stated that the earthquake that struck Chile actually moved the city 10 feet to the west.... also they state that it shifted the earth's axis. That change alters the rate at which the planet rotates, and rotation determines a day’s length. Which has now shortened our days by 1.26 microseconds. Although this is a minor change in the day's length in regards to us, other natural disasters can also cause this same shift. In 2004 the tsunami, cause a shortening in days by 6.8 microseconds.
I think that you missed your calling. YOu should've been a meteorologist or something. And you blogging this stuff is really freaking me out. Thanks for that. ;)
